Whom we supported
Yes On 2 was a movement to allow statewide Ranked Choice Voting in the state of Massachusetts. The efforts was volunteer-run, supported by a broad coalition of bipartisan current and former lawmakers and officials.
Why we contributed
Ranked choice voting (or RCV) allows voters a greater voice in elections by allowing them to vote their candidates by preference, rather than voting strategically. This eliminates the fear of “wasted” votes, since when a voter’s preference is eliminated in the first round of instant runoffs, their second-choice vote is counted instead, continuing until a candidate with broad-based support emerges as the victor.
